A side-by-side editorial comparison of Cody and Weebly — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Cody now builds promotions from a plain-language request, ahead of Black Friday.
Cody is a white-label ecommerce platform for retailers in New Zealand and Australia, built around a POS-linked promotions engine. A batch of ten releases landed at once: promotions set up from a typed description, Afterpay Express Checkout, rule-based upsells, loyalty deals shown to logged-out shoppers, and ex-GST pricing for B2B sites. Smaller fixes cover reCAPTCHA bot blocking, page-builder layout jumps, app offer targeting and OnTempo imports.
Snapshot from a once-prolific feed whose latest entry is from March 2018 — read as a frozen archive, not current state.
The available changelog covers a six-week window in January–March 2018, when Weebly was running a monthly release-notes cadence alongside a high volume of how-to content for small-business owners and one new paid service launch. No publishing activity is observable in this dataset after March 2018, so the 'current' picture can only be described in past tense.

The promotions engine is the center of the product, and this batch makes it easier to configure and more visible to shoppers. Most of the work aims at conversion and order value in the run-up to Black Friday: faster checkout, smarter upsells, loyalty sign-up prompts. Typing a promotion in plain words is Cody's first AI-assisted setup tool in these entries, next to the earlier checkout API groundwork for agentic commerce.
Expect more peak-season conversion features and natural-language setup reaching other modules. The entries still don't date the Agentic Checkout Protocol work or the final checkout API.

Across the visible window the pattern was consistent: bundled monthly release notes anchoring a stream of marketing how-tos and the occasional adjacent-service launch like Photo Studio. Cadence was high and reliable for the window covered. Whatever happened after March 2018 is not visible here.
Without fresher entries it is not possible to make a confident call. If the feed resumes inside this dataset, expect a substantial gap to fill in before any new trajectory can be read with confidence.
