Calendly hands the back-and-forth to Callie, and opens its calendar to Siri and Meta's Muse.
Calendly's autumn releases move scheduling away from the booking link. Callie can now be copied into emails or emailed directly, can schedule over existing calendar events, and can customize meeting titles. Siri can share a link without the app open, and Meta's Muse agent can check availability, book and cancel through a connector.
Element ships MatrixRTC calls and starts moving its web client onto Rust.
October was Element's busiest stretch in this window. MatrixRTC, a decentralised, end-to-end encrypted multiparty call protocol, arrived; five public sector organisations showed cross-border federation at the Matrix Conference; and openDesk now deploys Element Server Suite directly from Element. Element Web has also started moving to the Matrix Rust SDK, one component at a time.

The summer work added contacts, invoicing and email around the booking. This cycle changes how a booking gets started: by asking an assistant in the place the conversation already is. The link stays, but the entries show Calendly accepting that the request may arrive from an email thread or from someone else's agent.
Each Callie entry so far widens where it can be reached and what it may do on a user's behalf, so expect more permissions of that kind. The entries say nothing about how Callie is priced or packaged.

Element is closing the gaps between sovereign messaging and the tools it wants to replace. Calls were a large remaining hole, and Open Productivity, a joint venture with other openDesk vendors, adds a commercial route to businesses and critical infrastructure operators. The web migration brings the desktop client onto the same base as Element X.
Expect more government deployments built on the federation demo, and steady Element Web components moving to shared code. The incremental approach means no single release will mark the switch to Rust.
