What is Atlassian?

Atlassian threw out Rovo's multi-agent router for one long-horizon reasoning loop.

The feed blends Atlassian's engineering blog with product news, and both halves are busy. On the product side, Rovo Chat was rebuilt around a single reasoning engine, Loom now turns screen recordings into agent-executable plans, Trello gained an MCP endpoint, and Bitbucket keeps filling gaps with multi-branch test tracking and workspace-level internal packages. The engineering side is publishing genuine infrastructure work — a Kinesis-to-Kafka migration carrying 145 billion daily events, and AOSC, an open-source OpenSearch plugin for online index migration.

What is NocoBase?

NocoBase is wiring its AI employees and its JS blocks to call each other

NocoBase is a self-hosted low-code platform, currently building 2.2.0 in the open across alpha and beta pre-releases. The visible work splits between a client v2 rewrite — tabs, subpages and pop-ups gaining linkage rules, configurable route entry modes — and an AI employees layer that is being connected to the platform's JS blocks in both directions.

Atlassian vs NocoBase: editorial side-by-side

A10.0

Atlassian threw out Rovo's multi-agent router for one long-horizon reasoning loop.

◆ Current state

The feed blends Atlassian's engineering blog with product news, and both halves are busy. On the product side, Rovo Chat was rebuilt around a single reasoning engine, Loom now turns screen recordings into agent-executable plans, Trello gained an MCP endpoint, and Bitbucket keeps filling gaps with multi-branch test tracking and workspace-level internal packages. The engineering side is publishing genuine infrastructure work — a Kinesis-to-Kafka migration carrying 145 billion daily events, and AOSC, an open-source OpenSearch plugin for online index migration.

◆ Where it's heading

The Rovo rewrite is the tell: Atlassian tried per-product agents wired together by a router, concluded that structure was the constraint, and replaced it with one model reasoning across the whole workspace. Everything else feeds that same direction — Loom video as a prompt format, Trello reachable over MCP, HR and ecosystem messaging about connected systems rather than connected tools. Bitbucket, meanwhile, gets steady non-AI hardening aimed at teams that do not ship from main.

◆ Prediction

Expect the long-horizon engine to spread beyond Rovo Chat into the in-product agents across Jira and Confluence, and for more Atlassian surfaces to get MCP endpoints following Trello's lead.

N6.3

NocoBase is wiring its AI employees and its JS blocks to call each other

◆ Current state

NocoBase is a self-hosted low-code platform, currently building 2.2.0 in the open across alpha and beta pre-releases. The visible work splits between a client v2 rewrite — tabs, subpages and pop-ups gaining linkage rules, configurable route entry modes — and an AI employees layer that is being connected to the platform's JS blocks in both directions.

◆ Where it's heading

The AI employees feature started as an assistant sitting beside the app. These releases dissolve that boundary: JS blocks can trigger AI employee tasks through a RunJS API, and AI employees now have frontend tools that operate JS blocks. Custom application logic and the agent layer become mutually callable, which is a different product than a chat panel bolted onto a builder. Around it, the approval workflow is being ported to client v2 with card-style selection and inline usage instructions.

◆ Prediction

With the call path open in both directions, the unresolved question these entries raise is governance — what an AI employee is permitted to execute and under whose authority — so expect permission scoping around AI employee tasks before 2.2.0 stabilizes.
