What is adaR?

An R binding to the ada URL parser, now maintained by a research-software group.

adaR wraps the ada-url C++ library to give R a WHATWG-compliant URL parser with vectorised accessors, setters and clearers for every URL component. The latest release is a performance improvement to ada_url_parse. Maintenance moved from an individual to the gesistsa organisation, which also bumped the vendored parser.

What is Z-Wave JS?

Z-Wave JS ships weekly; the hard problems are smart locks, device quirks and interview reliability.

Z-Wave JS releases on a roughly weekly cadence, and the pattern is consistent: a small feature or two, a batch of protocol-correctness fixes, and a steady stream of device config files. The recurring hot spots are User Code and credential handling on locks, where cache-sync bugs keep surfacing, and the interview process, which has been reworked to pause during inclusion and to report granular progress. v15.27.1 is a small follow-up to that cadence rather than a new direction.

0.0

An R binding to the ada URL parser, now maintained by a research-software group.

◆ Current state

adaR wraps the ada-url C++ library to give R a WHATWG-compliant URL parser with vectorised accessors, setters and clearers for every URL component. The latest release is a performance improvement to ada_url_parse. Maintenance moved from an individual to the gesistsa organisation, which also bumped the vendored parser.

◆ Where it's heading

The package reached feature completeness quickly — the accessor, setter and clearer families were all exported within months — and has since settled into tracking upstream ada-url and tuning parse speed. Note that this feed is backfilled out of order: the 0.1.0 initial release carries a later publication date than 0.3.0 and 0.3.1, so feed position does not reflect release sequence.

◆ Prediction

Expect continued ada-url version bumps and performance work; the API surface appears settled.

Z-Wave JS ships weekly; the hard problems are smart locks, device quirks and interview reliability.

◆ Current state

Z-Wave JS releases on a roughly weekly cadence, and the pattern is consistent: a small feature or two, a batch of protocol-correctness fixes, and a steady stream of device config files. The recurring hot spots are User Code and credential handling on locks, where cache-sync bugs keep surfacing, and the interview process, which has been reworked to pause during inclusion and to report granular progress. v15.27.1 is a small follow-up to that cadence rather than a new direction.

◆ Where it's heading

Two structural threads run under the bugfix noise. Long-running operations — interviews, NVM backup and restore, over-the-wire updates, value refresh — are migrating onto a common task scheduler, which is what makes the reliability work in inclusion and interviews possible. Separately, the project is investing in its own tooling: the development MCP server now searches config parameters semantically and navigates template imports, aimed at the device-file backlog that dominates every release.

◆ Prediction

Expect the task scheduler migration to keep absorbing the remaining long-running driver operations, and continued unification of credential and user management behind the AccessControl API as more lock quirks surface. Device config additions will keep making up the bulk of each release.
