Eclipse Che pulls workspaces into chectl and adds Orca, an editor for AI coding agents.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Apache ActiveMQ and GitLab — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
ActiveMQ 6.4.0 adds OAuth2 JWT login and OpenTelemetry tracing, and tightens the console defaults.
Apache ActiveMQ shipped 6.4.0, 6.3.3 and 5.19.12 together in late October. The new minor adds OAuth2 JWT authentication through JAAS, OpenTelemetry tracing, IP allow and deny lists, SSL for the JMX connector, and activemq-pool support for JMS 3.1 and 2.0. It also tightens the default Jolokia policy and binds the web console to loopback. The two point releases carry fixes and hardening, including LDAP, ACL cache and connection ID validation.
GitLab Orbit goes GA, betting that agent quality depends on lifecycle context, not on the model.
GitLab's October output centers on Orbit, a live graph of code, merge requests, pipelines, vulnerabilities and ownership, now generally available for Premium and Ultimate on GitLab.com. Security is the main use case: the Business Logic Security Analyzer is the first GitLab capability to support Claude Mythos 5.1, and PHP2Shell and Pillow CVE guides double as Orbit demonstrations. Duo Agent Platform also reaches outward, with the Flows API letting outside systems such as Salesforce trigger agent investigations.

Security has become the organizing theme of this release set. Authentication and network controls arrive as features in 6.4, while fixes of the same class land on 6.3 and 5.19. Defaults are shifting too, following the earlier AMQP frame-size cut, so a fresh install now exposes less without any configuration.
The 6.4 line should see follow-up fixes for the new authentication and tracing paths. Maintenance on 5.19.x and 6.3.x looks set to continue through coordinated releases, and these entries give no end date for either.

GitLab is positioning itself as the context and control layer for agents it does not own. Claude Code, Codex and Cursor connect to Orbit over MCP, so GitLab can charge for context whichever agent a team prefers. The security posts apply the same logic: discovery is getting cheap, and the scarce step is verified remediation inside governed pipelines.
Orbit's stated next step is reaching Self-Managed and Dedicated in the coming weeks, and GitLab says it is built to extend to non-GitLab data. Expect each major disclosure to keep producing an Orbit-based remediation guide.
