All-in-one recruiting software for hiring teams

Workable is bolting an HR suite and an editable hiring agent onto its ATS.

hr-platformagentic-screeningai-governancehrismcpsuite-expansion
Current state
Workable is no longer shipping like an applicant tracking system. The last two months add employee engagement surveys, HRIS headcount reporting, entity- and department-scoped admin permissions, and an expanding MCP server — work that belongs to an HR platform, not a recruiting tool. Running underneath it is the Workable Agent, which screens candidates against an Ideal Candidate Profile, and the newest release hands that profile over to the customer to edit.
Where it's heading
Two threads are converging. One widens the surface past hiring into performance, engagement, and headcount, putting Workable against the HR suites rather than the ATS field. The other is a govern-the-agent arc: after shipping automated candidate evaluation, Workable is now making its criteria editable, re-runnable, and priced — the controls that let a customer defend an automated screening decision.
Prediction
Expect the ICP controls to grow an audit trail — versioning of criteria and a record of which profile scored which candidate — since editable screening criteria without change history is a hard position to hold in hiring. The survey and performance work points at a combined engagement-and-review reporting view next.

Edit the Ideal Candidate Profile and re-evaluate your pipeline

    ⚡ SPARK

The control layer for the agentic thread in Workable's arc: the Ideal Candidate Profile that drives automated screening becomes fully editable, and pipelines can be re-scored against the revised version. It moves the agent from a fixed evaluator set at job creation to a rubric the customer owns and revises.

Assign HR access to specific entities and departments

Admin rights can now be scoped to specific entities, sites, and departments while a person's ordinary HR role continues to apply everywhere else. This is the permission model catching up with the HRIS expansion — once Workable holds employee data across multiple countries, blanket admin stops being acceptable.

Select all matching jobs in one click in the candidate database

Searching the candidate database by job title can now select every matching job at once across pinned, active, and archived jobs, with the selection saved in the URL so it can be bookmarked or shared. Small, but it targets the silver-medalist rediscovery workflow that makes a large candidate database worth keeping.

30+ new tools in the Workable MCP server

The MCP server picks up 30-plus tools, most notably field-aware advanced search across candidates and employees and the full performance review lifecycle from cycle lookup through sign-off. It deepens an existing surface rather than opening one, but the review-lifecycle coverage means an external agent can now drive a process, not just read records.

    Run employee surveys in Workable

    ⚡ SPARK

Engagement, pulse, and onboarding surveys land natively under a new Performance & Engagement feature set, which is Workable claiming a product category it previously left to others. It is the clearest single marker of the shift from recruiting tool to HR platform that runs through this whole window.

    Track headcount changes over time

A Headcount Evolution report turns lifecycle data Workable already holds into period-end headcount with new hires broken out, sliceable by department, entity, location, or employment type. Reporting like this is table stakes for an HRIS, and shipping it is a sign the employee record is now considered complete enough to analyze.
