◆Current state
Planify is a GTK task manager for GNOME on a fast release train — six releases in the window shown, most of them sync work. The 4.19 line spent nearly all its effort making CalDAV survive real servers: Mailbox.org, Open-Xchange, Posteo, Nextcloud Deck, and DAVx5 on Android each got a named fix. Feature work still lands, but alongside the sync repairs rather than instead of them.
◆Where it's heading
The direction shows in what gets fixed. Planify is positioning as the GNOME client that works against whatever CalDAV server you already run, not a client for one service — sync-token fallbacks, ETag retries, and CDATA parsing are all compatibility debt paid down per-server. The second thread is pushing into the desktop itself: a Shell search provider, system accent color, a CLI. Both are the same bet, that the app's value is behaving well inside an existing setup.
◆Prediction
Expect another CalDAV compatibility pass naming a specific server next, since four of the last six releases took that shape. Feature work will most likely extend the backup and section support added in 4.19.2 rather than open a new area.

    Startup backup recovery and recurring-task notification fix

    Follow-through on the automatic backup added in 4.19.2 — a backup missed because the app was closed at midnight now runs at next startup. The recurring-task fix closes a real correctness gap where completing from a notification ended the series instead of advancing it.

    Planify 4.19.4

    Three fixes, two of them the usual per-server CalDAV debt: a crash on priority-less tasks against Mailbox.org and Open-Xchange, and UTC timestamps so DAVx5 on Android stops erroring. Maintenance in the established pattern.

    Planify 4.19.3

    Another single-server compatibility fix — CalDAV data wrapped in CDATA now parses for Mailbox — plus two UI annoyances. Two of these releases landed four days apart, which is the shape of a maintainer working through server-specific bug reports as they arrive.

    Planify 4.19.2

    The feature release of the 4.19 line: daily backups, GNOME accent color following, past-date selection, .ics export, and CalDAV sections that sync bidirectionally with other clients. That last one is the trajectory in miniature — a Planify concept expressed in a format other CalDAV clients can read.

    Planify 4.19.1

    Sync hardening for servers that do not behave like Nextcloud: ETag-based change detection for servers without sync-token, transparent retry on 412 conflicts, and readable errors where CalDAV forbids an operation. This is the release where per-server compatibility became systematic rather than ad hoc.

    Planify 4.19.0

    The largest feature drop in the window — a productivity summary dialog with configurable goals, PDF export, per-project markdown settings, and a GNOME Shell search provider that surfaces tasks from the Super key. The Shell provider is the clearest statement of the desktop-integration half of Planify's strategy.
