LaunchNotes

LaunchNotes is becoming an AI drafting engine for product updates, now agent-accessible via MCP.

Current state
LaunchNotes is a product-update and changelog platform, and its recent work centers on removing the overhead around publishing: AI drafting that ingests Jira, Loom, and PRDs; a Tone & Voice layer so many authors sound like one brand; native tables; Secure Content auth for assets; and now an MCP server plus Confluence as a source. The throughline is reducing the friction between scattered source material and a finished, on-brand announcement.
Where it's heading
LaunchNotes is consolidating fragmented AI features into a single drafting surface and wiring itself into the tools where source material already lives (Jira, Confluence) — while exposing its own content to agents via MCP. It's positioning as AI-native infrastructure for product communication rather than just a publishing destination.
Prediction
Expect more source integrations feeding the drafting engine and deeper MCP/agent capability, extending the pattern of meeting teams where their inputs live and letting AI clients both pull and push updates.

Templates, Confluence, and the MCP Server

    ⚡ SPARK

Bundles reusable templates, Confluence as a source, and an MCP server. The MCP server is the directional piece: it makes LaunchNotes content readable and writable by AI clients, fitting the arc toward agent-assisted product communication, while Confluence ingestion deepens the source-material strategy.

Transparency and Alignment while Maintaining Privacy

Secure Content extends the authentication that protects a private LaunchNotes page to every asset on it — images, diagrams, attachments. A meaningful security/privacy enhancement that supports private and gated update pages without adding to the core AI-drafting arc.

Introducing Smart Draft: The New Unified Way to Draft Announcements

    ⚡ SPARK

Smart Draft consolidates LaunchNotes' separate AI drafting paths into one experience: drop in Jira tickets, Loom recordings, PRDs, or rough prompts and get a structured draft in a single step, with Tone & Voice enforcing one brand voice across many authors. It's the centerpiece of the AI-native direction, turning scattered inputs into publish-ready announcements.

Tables Now Available in the Editor – Plus a Round of Enhancements

Adds native table support to the editor plus a round of roadmap, dashboard, and template enhancements. Solid editor and platform polish that improves how structured content is communicated, incremental against the AI-drafting headline.

Feature Friday - April 10: Customer Onboarding and Roadmap Enhancements

A Feature Friday batch of onboarding-customer enhancements plus roadmap polish. A grab-bag of incremental improvements rather than a single directional move.

    Draft Announcements Directly from Jira

Brings AI drafting from Jira to all Premium and Enterprise customers, pulling tickets and epics into a starting draft. In hindsight this is the precursor that Smart Draft later unified — an early, single-source step in the AI-drafting arc.
