Kill Bill

FINANCE
Velocity5.0

Open-source subscription billing and payments platform.

Kill Bill keeps its billing engine on a slow, reliability-first maintenance cadence.

Current state
Kill Bill, the open-source subscription-billing platform, is in steady maintenance mode. The active 0.24.x line is a stream of bug fixes, dependency updates, and invoice-processing reliability work, while a 0.25.x branch has opened with point releases that so far ship as bare release-plugin tags without published notes. Nothing here changes the capability surface; the focus is correctness and operational robustness of billing runs.
Where it's heading
The project is hardening the parts operators feel most: invoice failure handling, lock and retry behavior, and logging around aborted runs. The parallel 0.25.x line suggests the next feature-bearing release is being staged, but the visible changes remain incremental. Expect continued small releases stabilizing invoicing before 0.25.x carries anything user-facing.
Prediction
Likely more 0.24.x/0.25.x point releases in the same vein — dependency bumps and invoice-reliability fixes — with 0.25.0's substantive changes only becoming clear once release notes accompany the tags.
