AI-powered help center and documentation platform

Ferndesk moves its help-center answers into every reply box with a Chrome extension.

◆Current state
Ferndesk is an AI help-center platform whose assistant, Fern, writes and maintains the docs as well as answering from them. Since August it has shipped MCP access, a reworked public API, PR-drafted changelogs, article verification, GraphQL API references and section-level access control. The latest release adds a Chrome extension that pulls answers into any reply box, plus tone and scope settings for the AI assistant.
◆Where it's heading
Ferndesk is pushing its docs out of the help center and into wherever answers get written: AI tools through MCP, WhatsApp handoffs, and now any text box in the browser. Fern's role keeps widening too, from answering to drafting changelogs, verifying articles and tidying structure. The help center is becoming the source of truth that other surfaces read from.
◆Prediction
Expect more distribution surfaces, such as further chat-channel handoffs or helpdesk integrations, built on the same extension and widget foundation. The entries show no pricing change attached to these features.

A Chrome extension that answers from any reply box, and an AI assistant that sounds like you

The Chrome extension lets agents type !! in Gmail, Slack or a helpdesk to pull in an article or a reply drafted by Fern. With the new tone, length and off-limits topic settings, Ferndesk is extending its docs into the reply window, not just the help center.

WhatsApp handoff, smarter language redirects, and custom changelog tags

WhatsApp handoff sends visitors to a team chat with Fern's summary already typed in. Language redirects, custom changelog tags and SEO link credit round out a release aimed at reach and discoverability.

Team discovery, section landing pages, and sign-in codes

Team discovery routes same-domain sign-ups into the existing workspace instead of a new trial, and sign-in codes get readers past email filters. A Stoplight importer adds another migration path after Slite and Docusaurus.

Launch week: Contributors, multiple widgets, and a changelog API

The launch-week batch added a reviewed Contributor role, multiple widgets per account and a changelog API with webhooks. It also lets Fern reorganize messy collections through audits, extending its role from writer to maintainer.

Section access, sign in with your product, and a big week for security

Section-level access control, teased locked content and SSO through the customer's own login make Ferndesk usable for gated enterprise and partner docs. A completed penetration test and a written no-training guarantee address buyer security reviews.
