◆Current state
ERPNext is shipping v15 and v16 in lockstep, with most feature work landing on both lines within minutes of each other. The substance is unglamorous ERP correctness: stock valuation reposting, pick-list partial transfers, ledger performance, and country-specific charts of accounts. Release notes are themselves LLM-generated from PR diffs, which keeps cadence high but flattens the signal.

The work clusters around inventory and accounting integrity rather than new surface area. Recent releases automate what used to be manual cleanup — weekly reposting of incorrect valuation entries, unrounded internal-transfer cost rates, barcode-driven pick quantities — suggesting a push to reduce the reconciliation burden on operators.     Financial reports move to a faster data source

    Moves General Ledger, Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, and P&L onto a faster data source, and fixes barcode scanning in Pick List so repeated scans increment picked quantity. Both target the daily-use friction points rather than the feature list.

    Pick Lists support partial, staged stock transfers

    Pick Lists can now be transferred in stages, producing multiple Stock Entries and a Partially Transferred status. This is the warehouse-reality fix in the series — stock rarely moves in one trip, and the model now admits it.
