◆Current state
Checkfront handles bookings for tours and activities, and publishes one release-notes post a month. The recent run is operational depth rather than new territory: staff can take phone payments through Adyen without customer 3DS blocking the flow, timeslots can be closed individually instead of whole days, a single asset such as a bus or venue can back several products, and staff assignment lives in the Daily Manifest. The Schedule Grid has been rolling out gradually since early in the year.
◆Where it's heading
Two patterns repeat. One is granularity - closures moving from day to timeslot and then into the public API, filters arriving on the Booking Index, Product Discounts, and Product Closures pages - which is what a product does when its customers have outgrown coarse controls. The other is the staff-side flow: manifest assignment, phone payments, resending notification templates. Checkfront is investing in the operator behind the counter more than the customer booking online.
◆Prediction
Expect the Schedule Grid to reach general release and absorb the staff-assignment and closure controls that currently live on separate pages.
