◆Current state
Canix, a seed-to-sale platform for cannabis operators, spent this window on labeling and data plumbing: label fields expanded to carry brand, ingredients, strain dominance, notes, and the top five cannabinoids auto-ranked from lab results, with barcodes and QR codes now available for Lot ID, tag number, and item SKU. The label editor itself gained font and color pickers, field locking, duplication, and absolute pixel sizing. New POST endpoints cover NCI creation and purchase order line items, and an AI uploader for historical sales orders is in beta. Dark mode was answered by pointing users at a third-party Chrome extension until a real implementation ships.
◆Where it's heading
The work concentrates where cannabis compliance actually bites — labels that must carry state-mandated fields and scannable identifiers traceable back to lab results. Auto-ranking cannabinoids from lab data rather than making an operator type them is the pattern: pull regulated values from the system of record instead of trusting manual entry. The API and AI-upload work extends the same instinct to getting data in.
◆Prediction
Expect the label system to keep absorbing state-specific requirements and the AI uploader to move from an assisted beta to self-service. Dark mode is acknowledged as coming, though the entries give no date.
