A side-by-side editorial comparison of Syncthing and Teable — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Syncthing 2.1 is in steady patch mode, with database fixes in each release candidate.
Syncthing's 2.1 line added device and folder groups, HTTP CONNECT proxies, optional block indexing and configurable GUI sessions. Since then every tracked entry is a patch release candidate: 2.1.6 went through four RCs with fixes for introducer permissions, temp-file errors and HTTP keepalive, and 2.1.7 is on rc.2 with SQLite fixes for prepared statements and early garbage collection.
Teable turns saved queries into versioned, shareable API objects.
Teable ships near-daily, and most recent weight sits in the agent layer: per-workload sandbox resources, model tiers for scheduled tasks, multi-account integrations and a metered scraping catalog. The latest release adds reusable structured queries (fields, aliases, filters, sorts, aggregations) through one API endpoint and the CLI, plus a versioned Query Library with stable IDs, immutable revisions and pinned references. Editors can now append CSV imports to existing tables, and field PATCH calls that used to report success without applying options now either apply them or fail validation.

The project is stabilising the SQLite database backend that came with 2.x, with each patch cycle fixing storage edge cases and discovery behaviour. Releases run through multiple RCs before going stable, roughly every two to three weeks.
Expect 2.1.7 stable after rc.2, then further 2.1.x patches focused on SQLite and discovery. The entries don't show what 2.2 will bring.

Teable is moving from a spreadsheet-style database with AI features toward a hosted runtime for agents and automations, and the Query Library gives those agents stable, versioned reads to call. Around that, the controls keep accumulating: sandbox resources, maintenance pauses, audit logs, metered credits and consent flows. API behaviour is also being tightened, so integrations that relied on lenient endpoints will start seeing errors.
Expect the Query Library to show up inside agents, routines and app builder as a callable data source, priced through the existing credit model. The entries don't say whether queries will be exposed outside the API and CLI, for example through MCP.
