What is Plotly?

Plotly is turning its cloud into a metered compute platform with an enterprise on-ramp.

Plotly now ships on two tracks. Plotly Studio, the desktop AI app-builder, releases every one to two weeks and has spent v0.0.80 through v0.0.85 on credential handling, reasoning transparency and per-user personalization. Plotly Cloud is the louder track: since late May it has added viewer-seat pricing, domain verification, per-app compute modes with credit-metered billing, and customer-owned domains with managed TLS.

What is AgencyAnalytics?

AgencyAnalytics is rebuilding itself around AgencyAI, and just gave it a reusable skill layer.

Reporting features are still shipping, with a Shares tab that consolidates every email, scheduled send, link, and PDF download per report. But the center of gravity has moved to AgencyAI. Skills now let agencies run premade prompts or save their own repeatable instructions and share them across the account, the client Data tab has been consolidated into the context substrate AgencyAI answers from, and AI Tracker sells AI search visibility as a metered add-on.

ANALYTICS
7.5

Plotly is turning its cloud into a metered compute platform with an enterprise on-ramp.

◆ Current state

Plotly now ships on two tracks. Plotly Studio, the desktop AI app-builder, releases every one to two weeks and has spent v0.0.80 through v0.0.85 on credential handling, reasoning transparency and per-user personalization. Plotly Cloud is the louder track: since late May it has added viewer-seat pricing, domain verification, per-app compute modes with credit-metered billing, and customer-owned domains with managed TLS.

◆ Where it's heading

The Cloud releases are assembling the standard pieces of a hosting business in order — identity first (domain verification, explicitly framed as the step before SSO), then billing (viewer seats, then metered compute credits), and now production-grade serving (custom domains, automatic certificate renewal). Studio is being hardened as the authoring front end that feeds it: Universal Deployment pushed beyond Dash apps, credentials saved once and reused, and a Winget channel to widen Windows installs. The two tracks converge on one funnel — author in Studio, deploy to Cloud, pay by compute consumed.

◆ Prediction

The Domain Verification entry names SSO as the next step and places it in the Enterprise tier, so single sign-on is the most likely Cloud release next. Studio should hold its one-to-two-week cadence, with the pending Winget approval landing inside the stated one-to-two-week window.

A6.3

AgencyAnalytics is rebuilding itself around AgencyAI, and just gave it a reusable skill layer.

◆ Current state

Reporting features are still shipping, with a Shares tab that consolidates every email, scheduled send, link, and PDF download per report. But the center of gravity has moved to AgencyAI. Skills now let agencies run premade prompts or save their own repeatable instructions and share them across the account, the client Data tab has been consolidated into the context substrate AgencyAI answers from, and AI Tracker sells AI search visibility as a metered add-on.

◆ Where it's heading

The pieces fit together as a deliberate platform build: consolidate client context in one place, then give the assistant reusable, team-shared procedures that run against it. That moves AgencyAI from a question box toward something agencies configure once and run repeatedly across a client portfolio. The two upstream deprecations in the window, Microsoft Ads Impression Share and the Meta Graph API v25 metric changes, are the maintenance cost of sitting on top of ad-platform APIs, and both were handled by removing untrustworthy data rather than estimating it.

◆ Prediction

With context centralized and skills shareable, scheduled or triggered skill runs are the natural next step, turning saved procedures into recurring portfolio monitoring. The entries hint at more client-context features in the Data tab but do not say what they are.
