Duplicati
Duplicati turns Hyper-V and MSSQL backups into restorable, named sources.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Payload CMS and Redocly — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Payload v4 enters beta: redesigned admin, TanStack Start support and agent instructions.
Payload 4.0 moved from canaries to beta on October 9, bundling an admin UI redesign, TanStack Start as a second framework alongside Next.js, hierarchies, tags, grid view, upload versioning and a rewritten MCP server. Two betas followed within a week; beta.2 moves the TanStack adapter to stable TanStack Start and renames LLM instructions to agent instructions. The canaries also flipped the Local API to enforce access control by default.
Redocly turns to Reunite: new sign-in, SSO fixes and editor polish after the MCP release.
Redocly shipped a coordinated 0.138.0 release on October 12 with project-specific MCP tools and WebMCP support, then 0.138.1 patches on October 14 fixing Docs MCP sign-in, a long-page layout jump and CVE-2026-93687. On October 15 the focus moved to Reunite, its hosted editing and deployment app: three releases redesigned editor tabs, simplified organization setup, reworked sign-in with SSO profile editing, and fixed Bitbucket OAuth expiry plus several pull request and deployment bugs.

Payload is loosening its Next.js dependency and building agent features into the CMS itself: editors can manage instructions that flow into the CLI and MCP schemas, and upgrades come with an agent-assisted codemod. The betas are now mostly fixes and documentation, which points toward a stable 4.0.
Expect weekly betas focused on migration fixes and docs, with more framework-adapter work for TanStack Start. The entries don't give a 4.0 stable date.

The pattern holds: a feature burst across the docs product line, a patch wave, then platform work in Reunite. The Reunite releases tighten identity and onboarding (SSO names scoped per organization, suggested org names, last-used sign-in marker), which matters for teams adopting it across several organizations.
Expect more daily Reunite fix releases and further 0.138 patches. The asyncapi config key from the previous cycle still points to AsyncAPI support in the portal, but no entry yet ships it.
