What is Nextflow?

Nextflow's October was a Bitbucket token-leak cleanup across three release lines.

Nextflow ships dated edge builds for new work and 25.10, 26.04 and 26.10 stable lines for backports. October was dominated by one security fix: Bitbucket Cloud API tokens were being written into clone URLs and logs, patched in 26.10.3, 26.04.8 and 25.10.9 with a rotate-your-tokens advisory, followed by tighter log redaction in 26.04.9. The 26.10.0 stable release deprecated the process `when` section and added run-level CPU and memory limits for grid executors.

What is NGINX?

nginx patched HTTP/3 twice in a month and is trimming old platform code on mainline.

nginx runs a 1.31 mainline and a 1.30 stable line. After 1.31.5 added a native control API, a JSON module and predicate locations in September, the following releases were mostly security: 1.31.6 and 1.30.5 fixed an HTTP/3 buffer overflow (CVE-2026-90439), then 1.31.7 and 1.30.6 fixed five more CVEs including HTTP/3 request body injection. 1.31.8 on October 21 removed the Win32 iocp event module and fixed further HTTP/3 issues.

Nextflow's October was a Bitbucket token-leak cleanup across three release lines.

◆ Current state

Nextflow ships dated edge builds for new work and 25.10, 26.04 and 26.10 stable lines for backports. October was dominated by one security fix: Bitbucket Cloud API tokens were being written into clone URLs and logs, patched in 26.10.3, 26.04.8 and 25.10.9 with a rotate-your-tokens advisory, followed by tighter log redaction in 26.04.9. The 26.10.0 stable release deprecated the process `when` section and added run-level CPU and memory limits for grid executors.

◆ Where it's heading

The stable lines are absorbing the language work from earlier edges (typed processes, the v2 config parser, type-checker fixes in 26.10.4) while the edge track keeps adding Seqera-executor plumbing such as cost ratios and fast conda/pixi Wave builds. The 26.10 deprecations push users toward config-driven pipelines.

◆ Prediction

Expect a 26.11 edge and further 26.10.x patches centred on the type checker; the token fix suggests more redaction hardening may follow.

nginx patched HTTP/3 twice in a month and is trimming old platform code on mainline.

◆ Current state

nginx runs a 1.31 mainline and a 1.30 stable line. ◆ Where it's heading

HTTP/3 has needed fixes in each of the last three mainline releases, two of them CVEs. Mainline is adding features and removing legacy code at the same time, while stable gets the CVE backports.

◆ Prediction

More HTTP/3 fixes on both lines are likely; on mainline, follow-up work on the control API and JSON module is the next feature thread to watch.
