Each canary moves more execution off the chat window and onto user devices and background runs: Computer Use in canary.4, shared workspace devices in canary.5, the device-model relay in canary.6, and now third-party coding agents like Codex and OpenCode running on those devices. Tasks are becoming the primary unit of work, with a board, priorities and agent assignees. A new linear_connections table suggests external issue trackers are next to plug into that task layer.
◆ Prediction
v2.2.20 stable will likely roll up canaries 4 through 7, much as v2.2.19 did; a Linear integration surfacing in the task board is the most visible next step the commits point to.
