Oh Dear
Oh Dear's weekly changelogs have carried a security section five weeks running.
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Greenbone Vulnerability Manager and Apache ShenYu — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Greenbone's gvmd starts on Active Directory credentials as report exports settle.
26.43.0 on 27 October adds an LDAP/AD credential type, a GMP command to verify it and feature flags for AD integration, plus encryption and anonymization options for agent bundles. The surrounding releases finish the report export work: cancellation in 26.40.0, then reuse of completed exports and repeatable downloads. 26.41.0 also adds executable report formats and validates keys and certificates when credentials are modified.
ShenYu's AI gateway plugins are back in motion, with 2.7.2 candidate tags in October.
Apache ShenYu's feed resumed on 28 October with two 2.7.2 release-candidate tags that carry only Maven plugin messages. GitHub shows a 2.7.1 release on 8 July that the feed missed, with MCP server URL fixes, test-determinism fixes and gateway refactors. The release history also shows a set of AI plugins growing alongside the traditional gateway ones: an AI proxy, a token-based limiter, a request transformer and an MCP server plugin.

Report export, the summer's main thread, has reached the fix-and-polish stage. New work is moving toward agents and directory integration: agent OS metadata, group scheduling delay and bundle options sit alongside the AD credential type. The steady memory-leak fixes suggest a code base being tightened as these features land.
AD integration sits behind feature flags, so expect follow-up releases to complete it. The entries don't say when it will be enabled by default.

ShenYu is positioning as a gateway for model traffic as well as service traffic. The AI plugins appear first as features and then as bug reports a release later, which is what real use looks like, and token-based rate limiting matches how LLM providers bill. The apparent eight-month silence was a feed gap, not a stall.
Expect 2.7.2 final soon after the candidate tags, likely with more MCP server plugin fixes. The tags carry no notes, so its contents can't be judged yet.
