Dashy
Dashy shipped ten releases in five days; one fixes how auth headers trust origins
A side-by-side editorial comparison of Gloo Gateway and Traefik — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
Gloo Gateway's October batch fixes proxies that silently kept stale endpoints.
Gloo Gateway still maintains 1.19, 1.20 and 1.21 in parallel and releases them in same-day batches. The 2026-10-21 batch fixes a bug where a placeholder EDS assignment carried the wrong cluster name, so a proxy received an update it could not match, kept its old endpoints and never recovered. Each line also moved to Go 1.26.10; 1.21 additionally upgraded kin-openapi.
Traefik v3.8 rc.1 is a Gateway API release; v2.11 keeps getting security patches.
Traefik runs two lines. v3.8.0-rc.1 (2026-10-30) is mostly Kubernetes Gateway API work: ListenerSet support, client certificate validation, backend TLS policy for gRPC and TLSRoute, and TCPRoute consumed through its v1 version with Gateway API v1.5.x support dropped. It also adds per-router responding timeouts and an ACME option to reuse private keys. The v2.11 line keeps weekly-to-biweekly patches: 2.11.61 adds an entry-point limit on request header values and fixes a backend connection leak for NTLM and Kerberos.

Releases remain maintenance: Go and Kubernetes bumps on a weekly rhythm, with an occasional real bug fix shipped to every line at once. The 1.18 line no longer appears in the October batches. No new features are visible.
Expect further same-day dependency batches across the three lines; the entries show no feature release coming.

Feature work sits entirely on v3, and Gateway API is its center: the release tracks upstream versions and drops older ones, so Traefik is betting on Gateway API as its main Kubernetes interface. v2.11 is a security branch; five advisories in 2.11.58 and a CVE in 2.11.60 show it still gets real fixes.
Further 3.8 release candidates and then a final 3.8.0 are the likely next steps, with v2.11 patches continuing in parallel.
