A side-by-side editorial comparison of Glances and ManageEngine Log360 — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
After a year of CVE fixes, Glances 4.5.7 turns to making its alerts tell the truth.
Most Glances releases this year carried security patches: 4.5.2 alone corrected eight CVEs, and 4.5.3 to 4.5.6 kept going, ending with a credential leak through URL config values. 4.5.7 in September broke the pattern with a long list of correctness fixes, many of them alerts that fired on the wrong value or never fired, plus WebUI colouring bugs and a fix for --enable-mcp under mcp 2.0. 4.5.8 in October fixed export edge cases.
Log360's September build fixes the migration to the unified console.
ManageEngine Log360 is consolidating its components into Unified Log360, with a PPM in June that lets standalone deployments migrate. Builds since then mix security fixes, including an unauthenticated collector registration bypass and an authentication bypass in August, with marketplace extensions for CrowdStrike, Okta and Bitdefender. Build 13073 in September is a set of hotfixes for migration problems: failed dashboard migrations, IAM errors after login, and notification settings not saving.

Hardware coverage keeps widening alongside the fixes (Intel, AMD and ARM GPUs, Rockchip NPUs, LXC containers), and a v4 cutover tag in October suggests repository restructuring ahead. The security run appears to have eased since August.
Unclear what the v4 cutover changes for users; until it is explained, expect more 4.5.x maintenance releases.

The migration to the unified architecture is generating its own stream of fixes, while security patches continue at a monthly pace. Integrations are moving into marketplace extensions rather than core builds.
More hotfix builds for the unified migration are likely; no new build has appeared in the feed since mid-September.
