A side-by-side editorial comparison of CodeRabbit and Eclipse Che — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
CodeRabbit lets Delta Deep Scans fire on commit counts, elapsed days or coverage drops.
CodeRabbit is building a security product on top of its PR reviewer. October brought Deep Scan API access, merge blocking on Security findings, runtime reproducers and Delta Deep Scans that refresh changed or stale coverage between full scans. The latest change adds triggers: a delta scan can now start after a set number of commits or days, or when verified coverage drops below a target.
Eclipse Che pulls workspaces into chectl and adds Orca, an editor for AI coding agents.
Eclipse Che returned to detailed release notes after two sparse months. Che 7.123 added OpenShift on IBM Z and ARM, an editor change on existing workspaces and automatic OAuth token refresh, alongside DevWorkspace Operator 1.0.0. Che 7.124 built a workspace command group into chectl, replacing the separate connector tool, and added Orca as an editor option. DevWorkspace Operator 1.0.0 adds optional per-workspace NetworkPolicy provisioning.

Deep Scan is turning from an on-demand audit into continuous coverage run by thresholds. The CLI and IDE extension are being shaped into gates that fail reviews by severity, so findings can block work wherever code is written.
A likely next step is exposing coverage targets as a GitHub check or merge rule, building on the review check run shipped in October.

The consistent theme of removing manual steps continues, now reaching developers as well as operators. Editors can change without recreating a workspace, tokens renew without a restart, and SSH connection needs no extra tool. Multi-architecture support widens where Che runs, and Orca suggests AI coding agents are becoming a standard workspace option rather than an add-on.
Expect more AI agent tooling in the editor list and further chectl workspace commands. Monthly releases should continue, though 7.121 and 7.122 show that detailed notes are not guaranteed.
