What is CircleCI?

CircleCI is rebuilding its API for agents and retiring the 1.0-era surface beneath it.

CircleCI shipped API v3 this week with uniform conventions (UUID resource IDs, cursor pagination, one error format, standard rate-limit headers) and named AI agents as a target consumer. The same week it set a hard February 1, 2027 removal for ten v1/v1.1 trigger and rerun endpoints, and made Slack approval notifications actionable. These sit on top of September's open preview for running GitHub Actions YAML on CircleCI compute.

What is Tyk?

Tyk's release feed is CVE dependency bumps across three maintained lines.

Tyk is cutting release candidates on several maintained lines at once (5.8, 5.13, 5.15) and nearly all of them carry the same dependency bump for a batch of CVEs: kin-openapi, golang.org/x/crypto, thrift and the OTLP trace exporters. The one feature entry is the 5.16.0 alpha, where the gateway sends node metadata when it registers.

10.0

CircleCI is rebuilding its API for agents and retiring the 1.0-era surface beneath it.

◆ Current state

CircleCI shipped API v3 this week with uniform conventions (UUID resource IDs, cursor pagination, one error format, standard rate-limit headers) and named AI agents as a target consumer. The same week it set a hard February 1, 2027 removal for ten v1/v1.1 trigger and rerun endpoints, and made Slack approval notifications actionable. These sit on top of September's open preview for running GitHub Actions YAML on CircleCI compute.

◆ Where it's heading

The pattern is consolidation plus new entry points. Legacy surfaces are being cut (v1 endpoints, Bitbucket Data Center, old Xcode images) while new ways in are added: GHA YAML for migrants, v3 for programmatic and agent clients, Slack for approvals. CircleCI is trying to be reachable from wherever the work is triggered, not only from its own config and web app.

◆ Prediction

Expect v3 coverage to expand endpoint by endpoint, with v2 deprecation notices following once parity is reached; the GHA YAML preview is the other likely next step, most plausibly adding non-Linux runners or secret import.

5.0

Tyk's release feed is CVE dependency bumps across three maintained lines.

◆ Current state

Tyk is cutting release candidates on several maintained lines at once (5.8, 5.13, 5.15) and nearly all of them carry the same dependency bump for a batch of CVEs: kin-openapi, golang.org/x/crypto, thrift and the OTLP trace exporters. The one feature entry is the 5.16.0 alpha, where the gateway sends node metadata when it registers.

◆ Where it's heading

The work is supply-chain maintenance spread across a wide support window, with feature work happening on the 5.16 alpha line. Gateway registration metadata hints at better fleet visibility from the control plane, but one ticket is not enough to call a direction.

◆ Prediction

Expect the CVE bumps to go final across 5.13 and 5.15 and more 5.16 alphas; what 5.16 adds beyond gateway registration isn't visible yet.
