DNSimple's origin name servers answer a quarter faster at p90 after erldns work
A side-by-side editorial comparison of AppSignal and Scalar — release velocity, themes, recent moves, and the top alternatives to consider.
AppSignal links incidents from GitHub and gives its MCP server cleaner metric series.
AppSignal spent late October on tracing: the service map left its feature flag, traces link to host metrics and deploys, and cross-app services show by name. November adds two connection points: pasting an incident URL into a GitHub issue or PR now links it back to the incident, and the AppSignal MCP returns metric time series in a format AI agents read more accurately. A batch of fixes for deploy, host and pod pages rounds it out.
Scalar's November 5 releases give each API document its own authentication settings
Scalar ships several package lines on separate version tracks. The November 5 API reference releases (1.77.0 and the ASP.NET Core 1.1.47) let each document carry its own authentication defaults, render specification extensions, and make search much faster on interconnected schemas. The mock server gained an onResponse hook and spec-correct path matching, and the API client hardened its CORS proxy against XSS and open redirects. The SDK generator now emits experimental signed-URL methods across ten languages and sends only the credentials each operation requires.

The product is stitching its views together and exposing them to the tools developers already use, GitHub on one side and AI agents via MCP on the other. Each release removes a step between seeing a problem and acting on it.
Expect more MCP tools or outputs aimed at agents, such as trace or incident data, following the metric series change.

The reference renderer is in a polish phase after October's localhost toolbar and hosting waitlist, while the SDK generator is where breadth is growing fastest. Signed URLs, idempotency keys and per-operation credentials show Scalar chasing parity with dedicated SDK vendors across many languages.
The hosting waitlist has gone quiet in these notes; the clearest near-term pattern is signed-URL methods leaving experimental status and reaching the remaining SDK targets.
