Iceberg 1.12 drops Spark 3.4 and starts laying groundwork for the v4 table spec.
Apache Iceberg maintains several minor lines at once, and most visible work is backports and dependency updates. 1.12.0 on September 30 is broader: it removes Spark 3.4 support, adds V4 groundwork such as relative paths in the spec and Parquet or Avro manifests, adds a REST unregister-table endpoint and content stats in the spec, and writes shredded Variant from Flink. Kafka Connect now reports commit failures instead of swallowing them.
Apify reshapes its Store API for agents, and it will break some integrations on Nov 15.
Apify's October work treats AI agents as the main Store client. On November 15, GET /v2/store moves to a relevance-ranked search backend: search returns a single page of at most 100 results, offset and sortBy are ignored, total and count change meaning, and noisy fields are dropped to save agent context. Earlier in October, the MCP server gained tools to build Actors, read build and run logs and read source files, and the Store was regrouped into use-case categories.

The project is moving from maintenance-only releases back to spec work, with V4 pieces landing in stages. Older engine versions are being dropped as that happens.
Expect more V4 spec and core pieces in 1.13 and patch releases on 1.11 and 1.12; a V4 release date is not visible in the entries.

The arc from June to now is consistent: MCP connectors, x402 payments for agents without accounts, Apify AI for plain-English runs, and now a Store API and MCP toolset tuned for agents over human paging. Apify is accepting breakage for existing integrations in exchange for better agent results.
Expect migration guidance and possibly a grace period around the November 15 cutover, followed by more MCP tools moving into the default set.
